Peachtree City, Georgia is a beautiful planned community that was chartered in 1959. Peachtree City has almost 32,000 residents. The city is divided into five separate villages, called Wilksmoor, Aberdeen, Braelinn, Glenloch and Kedron. In 2009, "Money" magazine declared Peachtree City as the number 8 best place to live in the United States. Any Peach Tree City hotel would make the perfect home away from home while visiting this scenic, southern city.

One of the most distinctive features of Peachtree City is the abundance of paved paths throughout town. The city contains 90 miles of multi-use paths, encouraging citizens and visitors to get around by way of golf carts, bicycles, or on foot.

If a day out on the water is what you desire, there are three lakes in town. These are Lake Kedron, Lake Peachtree and Lake McIntosh and all three offer fishing, boating, swimming and water sports.

Peachtree City does have three golf courses, but it is important to know that they are not open to the general public. Guests of club members are allowed to enjoy the courses at Braelinn Club, Flat Creek Club and Planterra Ridge Club. For the disc golf player, there is a 9-hole course in the Village Green Park, which is open to the public from sunrise to sunset every day.

The Dixie Wing Museum displays airplanes from World War II and the Korean War, as well as aviation artifacts, models, military uniforms and a variety of military weapons. Visits should be scheduled in advance by phoning the museum but it is generally open on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Music fans will be excited to know that The Frederick Brown Jr. Amphitheater, commonly referred to as "The Fred", hosts top name musical acts. Lawn seating, individual reserved seating and reserved table seating are all available.

For the visitor who is lucky enough to stay in a Peach Tree City hotel during the summer or the fall, there are a number of annual events scheduled in Peachtree City at that time. The 4th of July celebration includes a patriotic themed golf cart parade and a spectacular fireworks show. In September, the Shakerag Arts, Crafts&Bluegrass Festival features handmade crafts, vendors and a bluegrass music showcase. Also in September, the Dragon Boat Races&International Festival takes place at Drake Field. In addition to the boat race, there are food vendors and dance performances. One of the biggest events in town takes place at Falcon Field in October with the Great Georgia Air Show. The air show includes acrobatic flying displays and parachuting exhibitions. Also held every October, the Peachtree City Classic is a 15K/5K foot race that winds through the city. On top of that, there is an expo held on race day that includes health and fitness product exhibits.

The weather in Peachtree City is tolerable year round, with humid, warm summers and mild winters. The average high in the summer is 89 degrees Fahrenheit with an average low of 68. In the fall, the average high is 75 and the low averages 50 degrees. The wintertime high is around 55 degrees and the low is around 34. In the spring, the high averages 73 degrees with an average low of 52 degrees.

While staying in any Peach Tree City hotel, once you've seen everything Peachtree City has to offer, a visit to the city of Atlanta may be in order. It's a mere 30 miles away, to the northeast. The 35-year old Atlanta Botanical Garden, located downtown, is open from Tuesday through Sunday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. It features 30 acres of gardens, containing a huge variety of flowers and plants, as well as sculptures. Zoo Atlanta, located in Grant Park, just southeast of downtown, has over 1,000 animals on exhibit. It is one of four zoos in the country to house pandas. The zoo is open every day except for Thanksgiving and Christmas, from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

For the sports fan, Atlanta has four professional sports teams. The Atlanta Braves are the city's Major League baseball team and they play their home games at Turner Field. The National Basketball Association's Atlanta Hawks play at Phillips Arena. The Atlanta Thrashers also call Phillips Arena, home, where they play professional hockey. The Atlanta Falcons, Atlanta's National Football League team, play at the Georgia Dome.
